Arrival and Departure: Air and Rail Access for Luxury Clients Relocating to Las Vegas (October 2026)
When I place a luxury client in the Las Vegas Valley, the first questions are rarely about square footage. They are about access. How quickly can my client reach a board meeting in New York, a family home in Southern California, or a vacation in Europe, and how will they fly? Below is my October 2026 briefing on the valley's air and rail picture, using official figures that you can share with your clients directly.
Harry Reid International Airport: the scale behind the numbers
The Clark County Department of Aviation reports that Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) served 54,988,547 arriving and departing passengers in calendar year 2025. That is down 5.9% from 58,447,782 in 2024, but still the third-highest annual total in the airport's history. In its 2025 year-end release, the Department of Aviation said LAS kept direct connectivity to more than 170 markets.
Traffic in 2026 has been lower. The Department's August 2026 report shows 4,149,332 passengers for the month, down 9.16% from August 2025. Year-to-date traffic through August was 34,353,312 passengers, down 7.15% from the same period in 2025. The Las Vegas Review-Journal noted that Spirit Airlines stopped operating in May, which took seats out of the Las Vegas market. One detail stands out for internationally mobile clients: international passengers rose 3.9% year over year in August, to 293,672, even as domestic traffic fell 10.2%.
For a relocating client, the practical point is this. Las Vegas is a primary origin-and-destination airport, not a connecting hub that depends on transfer traffic. Its nonstop network is built around people flying to and from the valley itself.
A new transatlantic link
In April 2026, Air France opened the first scheduled nonstop service between Las Vegas and Paris-Charles de Gaulle. The airline says the route runs three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, on Airbus A350-900 aircraft. The Department of Aviation said Paris connects travelers to more than 120 onward markets. This season is scheduled to run through October 24, 2026. For clients who split time between the United States and Europe, I recommend checking the airline's published schedule for future seasons before treating the route as year-round.
Private and business aviation: Henderson Executive Airport
Many of my luxury clients fly privately, so I always cover Henderson Executive Airport (HND). Clark County owns HND, and the Department of Aviation operates it as a primary reliever airport for Harry Reid International. The same department also operates the North Las Vegas, Jean, and Overton airports. According to the airport and FAA records:
- HND has two parallel runways. Runway 17R/35L is 6,501 feet by 100 feet, and runway 17L/35R is 5,001 feet by 75 feet.
- The airport offers 84 acres of ramp space. The FAA describes its traffic as ranging from training aircraft up to large-cabin corporate jets, along with a substantial helicopter population.
- The airport is open 24 hours. The tower operates from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. year-round, and the FBO (the fixed-base operator, which handles fueling and ground services) is open from 5:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
- The Department of Aviation reports investing more than $30 million in HND, including the parallel runways and a stand-alone control tower built in 2006.
Business aviation also shows up at Harry Reid International itself. The Department's August 2026 report counts 12,267 air taxi operations and 2,119 general aviation operations at LAS for the month.
Rail to Southern California: where Brightline West stands
Clients who keep ties to Los Angeles often ask about high-speed rail. As reported, Brightline West is a planned 218-mile line. It would run from a station on Las Vegas Boulevard between Blue Diamond and Warm Springs Roads to Rancho Cucamonga, California, where riders can connect to Metrolink for downtown Los Angeles. In its July 2026 report to the Nevada High-Speed Rail Authority, Brightline West says it has signed additional construction agreements, that Siemens trainset manufacturing is continuing, and that the project is supported in part by a $3 billion federal grant. A company spokesperson told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that the target for service is now late 2029, and the company is still waiting on a pending $6 billion federal loan. I present the line to clients as a project still in progress, not as a fixed part of their commute.
What this means for your client's search
Access affects where a client chooses to look. A frequent private flyer may weigh drive time to Henderson Executive. A client with a seasonal European schedule may plan around the Paris nonstop calendar. A client tied to Southern California may follow the rail timeline. My role is to set out those facts clearly, using official sources, so your client can decide which trade-offs fit how they actually live.
